NEW TRASH SERVICES FOR THE BOROUGH

Parkesburg Borough put a request for a bid for trash, recycling, yard waste and bulk services out in May 2025.  The trash services were awarded to Opdenaker.  Starting October 1, 2025, TRASH pickup will be every Tuesday and RECYCLING will be picked every Wednesday for the whole Borough.  Bulk items and yard waste will also be picked up by the new hauler. Please have your trash, recycling, yard waste and bulk out the night before, pick up for this will begin after 5AM.

Each residence or apartment unit will still be billed $125.00 a quarter by the borough.  Each residence or apartment unit will receive a 96-gallon rollout toter with a lid for trash and a separate 96-gallon toter for recycling.  All trash items must fit in the 96-gallon toter.  Any trash bags that are placed beside the toter will not be picked up.  The toters will be delivered to each household the last week of September.

For items that are prohibited for regular pickup the county has a hazard waste program that has drop offs for items prohibited.  Please check the county website for more information on this www.chestercountyswa.org

Keep in mind we wish to keep the community clean and free from litter. Any trash, recycling, yard or bulk items not properly disposed of could result in a violation of codes. Any complaints on pick up please call our administrative assistant in charge of trash services at 610-235-9413 option 1 or email trash@parkesburg.org. Please check our Borough website out for any more information or changes that may occur.  Messages will also be sent out in your trash bills.

Recycling

Single Stream Recycling means that you don’t have to separate your recyclables. Instead place all of your recyclable materials, such as paper, cans, and bottles, in the same container.

The recycling containers will have a logo on the lid explaining what is considered recycling and how to properly dispose of the items.

Single stream recycling has been shown to increase household recycling by 25%. This saves time by not having to separate recyclables.
