Office of the Chief

 The Chief oversees the administrative and patrol divisions of the Police Department, which include:

Patrol

The Patrol Division is responsible for responding to calls for service and initiating pro-active patrol activities. In addition to routine patrol, the Unit also incorporates the following:

• Bicycle/Segway Patrol
• Motorcycle Patrol
• Motor Carrier Safety Enforcement
• Traffic Safety Unit
• Highway Safety Programs

Criminal Investigations

About the Division

The Criminal Investigations Unit is responsible for investigating crimes against persons and property. Personnel assigned to the Criminal Investigations Unit work cooperatively with Patrol Officers and other law enforcement agencies to investigate criminal activity and prosecute offenders. This includes:

• Crime Scene Investigations
• Narcotics Investigations
• Identity Theft/Fraud Investigations
• Major Criminal Incidents
